The establishment has replied:
We were naturally disappointed to receive a lower hygiene rating following a recent inspection, and we want to reassure our valued customers that immediate steps have been taken to address the issues raised. The inspection took place during one of the busiest weeks at the very end of the summer season – a time when the café was operating at full capacity.
The usual clearing out of wastage hadn’t been done. We had then been closed for a few days. Opening the day of the inspection meant it was still there. This is not typical. While this is not an excuse this led to some temporary lapses in paperwork and storage practices, which were flagged during the inspection.
Since the inspection, we have worked hard to address all the comments made & scheduled a follow-up inspection to have our rating reassessed & hopefully get back to our usual 5 star.
We are proud to be a much-loved part of the local community and a go-to spot for beachgoers. We’re committed to upholding the highest standards and have every confidence that our rating will soon reflect the quality, care, and hard work that go into everything we do.
Thank you to all our customers for your continued support and understanding.
