Other improvements:

We were inspected on July 21st and July 24th. On July 21st, the boiler we share with the business upstairs, was inadvertently switched off by a tradesperson doing repairs. This was immediately corrected upon discovery and Tower Hamlets observed this to be true on July 24th. This was the only issue. I was not given a rating on July 21st, I was told on July 24th I would likely receive a 4, but to wait to hear back from Tower Hamlets. When I contacted them a month later as to why I hadn't heard anything back, I was informed they'd published a 1, based off the boiler issue, and I was not allowed to appeal because I hadn't contacted them in the period I'd been told to wait to hear from them. At both inspections I was told I would be rated based on the boiler being fixed and to wait for a final rating.

Tower Hamlets have confirmed in writing multiple times that they accept the business to be fully complaint and receiving a four, but wont update the rating unless I pay them £213. Remember this when considering the legitimacy of ratings issued by Londons most disreputable council.

The inspector who visited on July 21st, told me to wait to hear back about a rating, published one without telling me based off a matter that has already been proven to have been fixed and then blamed me for not appealing in a period I'd been told to wait to hear back from Tower Hamlets, also made several patronising remarks regarding my age and the size of the cafe, as well as several other remarks which most people would consider to be somewhat racist.

Conditions at the time of inspection

Conditions were not typical at the time of the inspection

We share a boiler with the neighbouring business. On July 21st, a tradesperson doing repairs in the neighbouring businesses basement inadvertently turned off our boiler. It was immidetely switched back on when this was noticed. The council has observed this matter to have been rectified, but refuses to update our rating unless we pay them £213
